ON-LINE RATES & SPECIFICATIONS

Run of Site:  $60 per thousand impressions
Banner ads will rotate on the following pages - Table of Contents, Past Issues, My Pediatrics, Journal Information, Subspecialty Collections, Most Read Articles, Search and Search Results.  (All banner ads appearing on the site will be equally weighted).  Projected estimated impressions are 125,000 per month.  This number will vary depending on the number of ads running on the site.  The AAP does not guarantee impressions.

E-mail Alerts:  $1,000 net/month
A banner ad will be placed at the top of eAlerts sent to subscribers and non-subscribers who opt in to the service.  43,000 individuals are registered for table of contents, keyword, article citation and other alerts.

bullet1a) Edit the Flash movie file (.fla). Apply the following 4 lines of code to a button in Flash for the entire banner. This button should be the top layer of the Flash ad:

Reproduction Requirements: 

Pediatrics is produced digitally and printed Direct-to-Plate (DTP).  Below are acceptable formats, in order of preference for submission of ad material:

1.  PDF - High resolution 
2.  EPS/TIFF
With the above formats all fonts and graphics must be embedded, the files must be saved in high resolution and ads must be complete and sized at 100%.

 3.  QuarkXpress files with all supporting art/fonts.

All digital ads submitted, must be submitted in CMYK.  All digital ads submitted must include a press quality proof of the ad and specify if the ad bleeds.  Should corrections be required to digital ads submitted, a minimum production fee of $100 will be applied.

Pediatrics is the official publication of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves as a medium for expression to the general medical profession as well as pediatricians. Pediatrics publishes papers on original research or observations and special feature or review articles in the field of pediatrics and related fields.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE OF ADVERTISING

bulletAll ads are subject to approval by the American Academy of Pediatrics.  The AAP reserves the right to accept, reject, or cancel any advertisement at any time if it is deemed not to be in keeping with the publication's standards and to evaluate ad copy to ensure that it does not contain false or misleading statements or information contrary to AAP policy.
bulletAll advertisements must clearly identify the advertiser and the product or service being offered.
bulletAll advertisements must be clearly identifiable to the reader as advertisements.
bulletDrug advertisements must include the full generic name of each active ingredient, and all active ingredients must be listed for nutritional products.  An analysis of contents must be included in advertisements for infant formula.
bulletClaims that include statistical statements or clinical studies must be based on studies by qualified individuals and documented by specific references to content published in recognized scientific journals. Articles accepted for publication but not yet published may also be used, but the name and date of issue of the journal involved must be furnished.  Statements based on material approved by the FDA for the package insert are acceptable; documentation based on scientific exhibits or personal communications are not acceptable; all promotional claims must have complete citations to information to allow readers to critically evaluate the documentation.
